Norwich showcases Doherty talent
Norwich hosted the 2018 PJHL Doherty Division All-Star & Prospects Games on Saturday as part of their 50th Anniversary season celebrations.
The All-Star game was played first … for players born in 1996, 1997, and 1998 … with players from Ayr, Tavistock, Wellesley, Norwich and Delhi playing for Team Red against Team White made up of players from Woodstock, Paris, New Hamburg, Burford, and Delhi.
Team Red won the game 8-5.
Brady Reid (Del) with 2, Angus Rowland (Tav) Hudson Michaelis (Ayr), Nick Mercier (Wel), Rob Grant (Ayr), and Tayler Trachsel (Tav) scored the goals for Team Red.
Justin Elms (Wod), Austin Richardson (Wod), Tyler Nagy (Bur), Alex Ritchie (Par), and Mitch Randell (Bur) scored the goals for Team White.
Reid had 2 goals and 2 assists to get him named Player of the Game for Team Red, while Elms who had 1 goal and 1 assist was named Player of the Game for Team White.
The Prospects game followed … for players born in 2001, 2000, and 1999 … with players from Ayr, Tavistock, Wellesley, Norwich and Delhi playing for Team Black against Team Grey made up of players from Woodstock, Paris, New Hamburg, Burford, and Delhi.
Team Black won the game 7-6.
Brandon Odorjan (Nor) with 2, John McDonald (Ayr), Cooper Page (Ayr), Zach Edwards (Ayr), Gianfranco Commisso (Ayr), and Mitch McKay (Tav) scored the goals for Team Black.
Alex Rayner (Bur) with 2, Zach Mark (NH), Josh Wright (Wod), Troy Vandenbussche (Wod), and Taylor Kellam (Bur) scored the goals for Team Grey.
Zach Ribeiro (Wel) had 3 assists and was named Player of the Game for Team Black, while Rayner had 2 goals and 1 assist to be named Player of the Game for Team Grey.
